Will Modi's Magic Show Get Going?
While some BJP insiders in Gandhinagar doubt Modi’s ability to replicate Gujarat in the neighbouring states, they say that much of the media focus is likely to be on him. In fact, Modi is expected to work out a rhetoric that may stand out for its publicity value, if not for anything else. His detractors, however, say the Gujarat chief minister’s presence won’t be of much help in boosting the BJP’s prospects. After all, he did campaign in Himachal Pradesh earlier this year and despite his much-vaunted presence the BJP got a drubbing from the Congress.
