A court granted “ad-interim” pre-arrest bail to suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yeole, accused of issuing illegal land ownership orders.
Yeole will remain on temporary bail until the court delivers a final decision on his anticipatory bail plea.
A court here on Saturday granted interim bail to suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yeole, accused of issuing illegal orders that transferred ownership of two government land parcels to private parties.
The FIR was registered at Khadak police station after a controversial sale of government land in Mundhwa to a firm linked to Maharashtra deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth Pawar, surfaced, along with another alleged illegal land deal in Bopodi.
Yeole, accused of approving an unlawful transfer involving agriculture department land in Bopodi, has sought anticipatory bail.
On Saturday, the court ordered that he be released on “ad-interim” pre-arrest bail — effective until a final decision on his application — against a personal bond of Rs 10,000 and a surety of the same amount.
Senior advocate Harshad Nimbalkar, assisted by advocate Shivam Nimbalkar, represented Yeole.
