Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday congratulated all the "exceptional individuals" who received the Padma awards from President Droupadi Murmu.
"Congratulations to the exceptional individuals who have been conferred with the Padma Awards today. PM @narendramodi Ji has recast Padma Awards into a testament to what the human spirit with a steely resolve can achieve. May their stories of rising above challenges inspire all," Shah tweeted.
The home minister also hosted a dinner for the awardees later in the evening.
A total of 52 awardees were given the honour on Wednesday -- two Padma Vibhushan, five Padma Bhushan and 45 Padma Shri.

The other distinguished personalities were given the awards on March 22.
Veteran socialist leader and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Late Mulayam Singh Yadav, and medical professional Dilip Mahalanabis, known globally for his work on Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS), were among those conferred the Padma Vibhushan award by the President.
