Delhi's IGI Airport Is Best In India, South Asia; Singapore Bags World's No 1 Spot | Full List

Delhi, at the 36th rank, is the only airport from India to have secured a position in the top 50 best airports in the world this year.

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has been awarded as the best airport in India and South Asia, whereas Singapore’s Changi airport was the world’s best airport, according to the 2023 World Airport Awards by international air transport rating organisation Skytrax. Doha’s Hamad airport, which bagged the Airport of the Year award for two consecutive years (2021 and 2022), secured the world's No 2 spot this time. 

Delhi, at the 36th rank, is the only airport from India to have secured a position in the top 50 best airports in the world this year. Meanwhile, Hyderabad Airport won the award as the Best Regional Airport in India and South Asia, and for the Best Airport Staff in India & South Asia. Hyderabad was ranked 65th among the world airports.

The awards are based on an annual global airport customer satisfaction survey conducted by Skytrax every year in which customers from across the world vote for their best experience in terms of airport service and performance indicators like check-ins, arrivals, transfers, security, shopping and immigration.

Singapore’s Changi Airport also won the award for the World’s Best Airport Dining and World’s Best Airport Leisure Amenities this year. In 2022, Changi airport was ranked third best in the world, whereas Doha secured the first position.
