Death On The Lake

It was a joyride which quickly turned into a horrific tragedy. Twenty two children and one teacher drowned in the Wullar lake in Kashmir after they were taken for a ride in an assault boat by the navy commandos posted there. While the boat has a capacity of carrying 16 fully equipped personnel, it is inexplicable as to why 34 people, including two adults, were allowed to board. A furious CM, Ghulam Nabi Azad, ordered a time-bound judicial probe while the army, under whose command the navy personnel were, has also ordered a court of inquiry.
