Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel criticized the presence of the historic Sengol in the inauguration of the new Parliament building by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning the nature of the transfer of power.
Baghel raised concerns about the transfer from democracy to autocracy and accused an organization, possibly referring to the BJP-RSS, of using Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's name for their own benefit.
During the NITI Aayog governing council meeting, Baghel highlighted Chhattisgarh's non-receipt of Rs 2,600 crore in excise taxes and stressed the immediate need for an economic survey and caste census.
He emphasized that conducting these surveys is essential for the development of India and understanding the socioeconomic conditions of various castes in education, health, employment, and income.

Baghel also criticized the actions of the Delhi Police, stating that while a person with a registered case under the POCSO Act is freely roaming, those who filed complaints against him are being jailed.
The Delhi Police had detained renowned wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Punia for breaching the security cordon during their protest against former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment by multiple women grapplers, including a minor.
