The Lok Sabha's Ethics Committee has summoned Trinamool Congress member Mahua Moitra to appear before it on October 31 regarding the cash-for-query allegations against her.

Following a committee meeting, its chairman, BJP MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar, also mentioned their intention to seek assistance from the Ministries of Home Affairs and IT in investigating the allegations against the TMC MP.

Moitra is scheduled to testify before the panel on October 31, as confirmed by Sonkar. During the meeting, the committee collected statements from lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai and BJP leader Nishikant Dubey regarding the matter.

In his complaint to Speaker Om Birla, BJP member Dubey relied on documents provided by Dehadrai to substantiate his cash-for-query accusations against Moitra. Birla subsequently referred the case to the Ethics Committee.
