Anish Dayal Singh Appointed CRPF Director General, Leadership Reshuffle In Key Security Forces

In a significant development, Anish Dayal Singh, the current chief of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). This decision comes following the retirement of S L Thaosen on November 30, with Singh having held the additional charge of CRPF during the interim period.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has sanctioned Singh's appointment as DG, CRPF until December 31, 2024, aligning with the date of his superannuation. Simultaneously, Rahul Rasgotra, currently serving as a special director in the Intelligence Bureau (IB), is set to take over as the new ITBP chief. Rasgotra, a 1989-batch IPS officer of the Manipur cadre, will assume the role until September 30, 2025.

Nina Singh, a 1989-batch IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre and the current Special DG of CISF, has been appointed as the DG of the Central Industrial Security Force until her superannuation on July 31, 2024.

Furthermore, Vivek Srivastava, a 1989-batch IPS officer of the Gujarat cadre and a special director in IB, is designated as the Director General of Fire Service, Civil Defence, and Home Guards. Srivastava's tenure in this role will extend until June 30, 2025, aligning with the date of his superannuation.
