In the ongoing Air India row, Shankra Mishra, the man who has been accused of urinating on an elderly co-passenger in November last year, told that he did not urinate on her but she urinated on herself.
The claim was made at Delhi's Patiala House Court where the matter is being heard.
In a bizarre claim, Mishra's lawyer said that the woman urinated on herself owing to her health conditions. Moreover, the advocate said that the woman has been a classical dancer for over 30 years and a good number of them, the dancers, have urinary incontinence.
“The complainant woman's seat was blocked. It wasn’t possible for him (Mishra) to go there. The woman has a problem with incontinence. She urinated on herself. She is a Kathak dancer, 80% of Kathak dancers have this issue,” ANI quoted the lawyer as saying.

He further claimed that the woman was suffering from a prostrate-like condition and the seating was such that no one could go near her seat.
"Her seat could only be approached from behind, and in any case, the urine could not reach to seat's front area. Also, the passenger sitting behind the complainant did not make any such complaint,” the defence advocate told the court.
However, the session court judge said that it is not impossible for anyone to go near her seat given how seats are done on the flight.
The argument came during Shankar Mishra's reply to the notice issued by the court on Delhi Police's application seeking his custody for interrogation.

Shankar Mishra's bail plea was rejected on Wednesday after he was arrested last week in Bengaluru. His request for bail was turned down four days later by a judge, who called the accusations against him "utterly disgusting and repulsive".
