Shunned by both the BJP and the Congress, the Muslims of Gujarat feel a division of their votes would ultimately help the BJP to retain the power again in the state
With the setback to parties like the BTP and growing religious and socio-economic stratification within the Adivasi community, the prospects of the proverbial Adivasi third front, however, remain distant
The loopholes in the guidelines of the Election Commission of India leaves a lot of scope for candidates to get away with poll expenses way beyond the sanctioned limits
The AAP would not be able to do much in Gujarat, where the BJP is culturally well entrenched and Modi has lost none of his personal charisma
By setting the poll agenda with job and cash guarantees to the unemployed youth and erudite caste math, the AAP may steal a march over the BJP in some key constituencies.
Change of leadership brings fortune for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022. MS Dhoni returned as CSK captain as the four-time champions defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 at the MCA Stadium in Pune to keep their playoff hopes alive. Despite losing the toss, CSK were off to a flying start with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway put on 182 runs for the first wicket with the former missing a ton by just a run. Conway finished at 85 not out as CSK finished 202/2 in 20 overs. In reply, SRH were off to a flier, with Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson putting on 58 runs in the powerplay. Mukesh Chaudhary pulled the strings with two wickets in an over and Williamson struggled against the spinners. Aiden Markram tried his best with a flurry of boundaries but his and Williamson’s untimely dismissals left SRH to chase 72 off the last five overs. Nicolas Pooran took 24 runs in the last over but that wasn’t enough for SRH to lose their second game on the trot. Get highlights of SRH vs CSK match.
MS Dhoni (CSK): I think it was a good score to defend. It's one of those coincidence where we got off to a good start and forced the bowlers to bowl the areas where we wanted to hit. I always told my bowlers, you may get hit for four sixes in an over, but the two balls that you save - ultimately in a high-scoring game - those are the two deliveries that will help you win the game.
Kane Williamson (SRH): When anyone gets over 200, it'll always be a challenge chasing it down. I thought we responded well to it, but they kept us under pressure with the total they had. We did show a lot of fight and were unlucky at times with some things that didn't go our way.
