Here’s disappointing news to the fans who are eagerly awaiting episode 9 of season 2 of the American television series The Summer I turned Pretty. According to reports, season 2 will not have any further episodes, and season 3 will debut in the summer of 2024. Although Belly chooses Jermiah (Gavin Casalegno) over Conrad (Christopher Briney) in the 8th episode entitled “Love Triangle”, the audience is still curious as to who Belly will ultimately choose.

Due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the filming of season 3 is expected to be delayed and is uncertain. An announcement released by Amazon Studios earlier this month stated that the show had been renewed for a third season.

The series is based on the novels written by American author Jenny Han and has grabbed the attention of audiences. With its July 14 release, The Summer I turned Pretty is one of the 10 most watched seasons of any series ever on Amazon Prime video, claims Amazon. The drama is centered on a love triangle between the protagonist Belly (portrayed by actress Lola Tung) and two brothers. It explores the intricacies of their relationships and challenges associated with maturing.

The final episode features a bildungsroman element as Belly's character develops and corrects all of her previous faults on her own, without anyone else's help. She is seen rejoining the volleyball team and proving her mettle. It appears that the protagonist is prepared to give her best effort in the upcoming season, unlike her fickle-minded nature in the previous season.

The audience has provided the series incredible support, and viewers are shown responding to the episodes. One of the admirers wrote: “Conrad is hurt, him being pretty is absolutely justified (also hilarious) and I’m eating up every minute, that’s my man!”
