Before Twitter's suspension in 2021, former US president Donald Trump's account had a variety of bizarre and erratic posts, much of which was deemed unworthy of being read again. Nevertheless, in light of recent accusations against the comedian, focus is now shifting back to a specific tweet from 2014 about Russell Brand. Attention has been drawn back to a tweet by the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, about Katy Perry and Russell Brand.

Prior to declaring his intention to run for president in 2014, Trump asked Katy Perry on Twitter why she chose the "loser" Brand.
"Katy, what the hell were you thinking when you married loser Russell Brand," he tweeted.
“There is a guy who has got nothing going, a waste!" the tweet added.

Following their 2010 wedding, Brand and Perry were married for a period of 14 months. When Brand abruptly announced his desire to break their marriage in a text message delivered just before Perry was scheduled to take the stage, their romance came to a stop.

Reflecting on their relationship in 2013, Perry said, "He’s a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him. Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."

Four women have made allegations of rape, sexual assault, and abuse against Brand. Brand stated that he "absolutely refutes" the claims made against him in a video posted on the comedian's social media sites on Friday, September 15, before the claims became viral. He made it clear to his audience that he had only ever entered into relationships that were "absolutely always consensual."

“I’ve received two extremely disturbing letters or a letter and an email. One from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff like community festival should be stopped, that I shouldn’t be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel.” Brand said in the Youtube video.
