Kailash Chandra Lohia, a highly successful industrialist from Assam has built an empire over the past four decades with perseverance and determination. Today, Lohia Group is one of the most valued companies in North East India. A man of iron will and firm resolve, Mr. Lohia, unlike many of his contemporaries, decided not to shift base during the late eighties and early nineties, when regional insurgency was at its peak. Instead, he chose to march ahead in his field and bring prosperity to the region through sheer hard work, foresight, and dedication.
Kailash Lohia was born in 1954 in a village called Rodu in Nagaur district of Rajasthan. He started school at the age of 5 years in his village school named "Rajkiya Prathmik Vidyalaya", Rodu. Right from a very young age he was more engaged in calculating sales and profits of his father Lt. Rameshwarlal Lohia's business (shop). In contrast to many of his classmates who aspired to become engineers or officers, he desired to become a businessman.

A major turning point in Mr. Lohia’s life came when his uncle Lt. Jamunalal Lohia took him to Nagaon, Assam further studies wherein he learnt intensely about business and trades
Mr. Kailash Lohia’s life has been a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, but he has never stopped working hard to achieve his goals. He has been a passionate entrepreneur since the beginning and his company has grown from a single store in 1977 to an entire conglomerate.
With his will power and sheer determination, he went on to establish innumerable businesses and is involved in manufacturing of cement, steel ,ferro alloys paper, low ash met coke, jaggery, textiles etc .Mr Kailash Lohia is a distributor of some of the Tata steel projects in the North East Region and was also ex PVC of Delhi Public School Guwahati .

Mr. Lohia has been felicitated with many awards and recognition over the years, notable ones among these were Life Time Achievement Award 2009 by North Eastern Small Scale Industries Association (NESSIA), Masters of Risk Conglomerate sector (mid cap) by CNBN TV18 etc
Mr. Kailash Lohia is closely associated with Lohia Charitable Trustthat was established in 1993 with the sole aim of helping the needy. Since its inception the trust has helped numerous needy people. He is the lifetime member of Akshaya Patra Foundation and ISKCON and Patron of Friends of Tribal Society, North East. Besides this, he is the Chairman of Gauhati Goushala, Vice President of Marwari Hospital and Research Centre, Honorary Member of Lions Club of Guwahati, Committee member of PTBM Sahakarmi (Tirupati Balaji), Advisor of Marwari Samellan Guwahati, Member of All India Marwari Federation
Mr. Lohia has always been very keen for humanitarian services and is well known for his philanthropic activities. His notable charitable endeavor in the recent years include construction of Radiology department in multi-specialty block of Marwari Hospital, renovation of auditorium at Lions Eye Hospital, renovation of its office part at Assam SahityaSabha, construction of a public toilet in association with Lions Club to name a few.
