Actor Ranbir Kapoor found himself at the centre of debates after his actor-wife Alia Bhatt revealed that he asked her to wipe off her lipstick as he likes her without it. Soon after, everyone lashed out at him on social media and even labelled him as a ‘red flag’ for dictating terms to his wife.
Meanwhile, Ranbir and Alia refrained from addressing the issue, until recently, while interacting with his fans, that the actor finally opened up on the controversy. In fact, Ranbir stated how he doesn’t mind the negativity if it helps people fighting against toxic masculinity.
“Recently, I was reading an article about being toxic and something relating to some statement I made, and I understand. Listen, I am on your side. Whatever you are fighting against this toxic masculinity, I am on the side of people who are fighting for it. So, if they want to use me as a face, I am fine because their fight is bigger than just me feeling bad about them having an opinion on what I said,” Ranbir said.

Revealing how he doesn’t feel bad for himself, Ranbir said that he believes he has “lots to feel grateful about”.
Well, earlier too, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have faced backlash from the public. In an interview with Vice, Alia had mentioned that Ranbir does not like it when she raises her voice. She was quoted as saying, “I have to try very hard to control my anger because my husband does not like it when my voice goes above this decibel. Because he thinks it’s not fair and it’s important to be kind even when you are unhappy.”

Reacting to all the remarks, Ranbir said that he has accepted that as an actor he will be a part of gossip columns and “it doesn’t matter” to him. He said, “I am not on social media, I don’t need to deal with it (social media negativity), which is a great thing.”
Adding how negativity is “very important” as it creates “balance”, the actor said, “Sometimes a lot of things are written about you as an actor, and many opinions are made, which are not necessarily true, but you have to take it with a pinch of salt. Because this image of mine, which is being created by the movies or the characters I play or by the media, is something that I don’t own. It is owned by the public, it is owned by people who like or dislike my work and they are allowed to say anything as long as they give my work a chance. My focus has always been just to act.”
Ranbir Kapoor will be next seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ along with Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Tripti Dimri and Bobby Deol. The film will hit the theatres on December 1.
