Karan Johar Announces 'Dhadak 2'; Siddhant Chaturvedi And Triptii Dimri To Headline The Intense Love Story

The day after Karan Johar announced his next directorial project, on May 27, the filmmaker unveiled the teaser video of its upcoming project, 'Dhadak 2'. The makers made its official announcement and also revealed the lead cast. Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri are all set to star together in 'Dhadak 2'.

'Dhadak 2' is co-produced by Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures along with Dharma Productions. The film is all set to hit the screens on November 22, 2024. The makers also shared a teaser video along with the announcement.

Directed by Shazia Iqbal, 'Dhadak 2' marks Siddhant and Triptii's first film together. From the teaser it seems that like the previous one, the sequel will also treat the audiences with a compelling story that explores love and challenges social norms. It will be filled with romance, drama, and emotions. The music is also intense and soul-stirrring and it will tug at your heartstrings for sure.

In the video, there is a voiceover of Siddhant's character who tells Vidhi (Triptii Dimri), ''Jo sapna tum dekh rahi hoh na Vidhi, usmein mere liye koi jagah nahin hain''. Vidhi replies, ''Toh yah bhi bata do Neelesh, meri feelings ka kya karu?''.

Interestingly, in 2023, when the reports of 'Dhadak' sequel starring Siddhant and Triptii started doing the rounds, Karan Johar set the record straight by denying it. He took to his Instagram Stories and reacting to the reports wrote, "To put this on the record and for all concerned we (Dharma Productions) are NOT making a film with the title DHADAK 2 as is being reported in various articles..."

'Dhadak' which was the Hindi remake of the 2016 Marathi language film Sairat by Nagraj Manjule, released in 2018. It starred Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles. It received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.
