'Dream Girl 2' trailer was unveiled on Tuesday (August 1). Ayushmann Khurrana is back as Pooja and he totally nailed his character to the T. We can't now wait for the movie to hit the screens. At the trailer launch event of 'Dream Girl 2', Ayushmann revealed that he took inspiration from Kamal Haasan and Govinda for his role of a cross-dresser. He also commented on how Karan Johar's film 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' has challenged gender stereotypes by showing two men-Ranveer and Tota Roy Choudhury performing Kathak.
Khurrana said that from the beginning, he has criticised toxic masculinity. He is glad that 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' is doing well. "They have set a good ground to address toxic masculinity because our film is going to take it to the next level," he added.

Ayushmann also said that he has taken inspiration from Kamal Haasan in 'Chachi 420' and Govinda in 'Aunty No 1' for 'Dream Girl 2'. He added, "A lot of actors have done this, including Kishore Kumar ji. So, actors have got an opportunity every decade to play characters like these. I'm glad I got it too with this film (Dream Girl 2), which says a lot in a light-hearted, fun way."
'Dream Girl 2' is a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster 'Dream Girl'. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, it also stars Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Ananya Panday and Abhishek Banerjee among others. It is releasing on August 25.
