Ananya Panday is currently enjoying the success of her highly-acclaimed Netflix film 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.' After having done a series of roles, portraying many characters, the actress has revealed in a recent conversation with Hindustan Times that she would like to play grey roles, and is inclined towards starring in biopics.
She further expressed her wish to be a part of "commercial massy cinema." After playing soft roles in previous projects, she now wants to play roles that mirror real-life challenges and give a narrative to the audiences to relate to.
The 25-year-old actress said, "I want to do characters that are neither black nor white, but grey. It is so easy to stereotype people nowadays, I want to be on the middle ground somewhere. I want to do characters of how people are actually in real life, some real characters. People should be able to relate with me," adding, "I have just started out and there is so much that I want to do. It is a longer journey ahead. I want to do big commercial massy cinema because I also love watching that as an audience. I also want to do a biopic of a sportsperson or a classical singer or dancer, something where I have to learn a specific skill for something."
Talking about the surprising success of 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan,' Ananya, who played the role of Ahana, feels overwhelmed by the love it received, giving credit solely to its relatibility with general audiences. She went on to talk about her dynamics with co-stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav, stating that they "are the same off screen as everyone saw on their screens. Sid and Adarsh are Neil and Amaad now, I won't be able to see them any other way." She further revealed that the three of them underwent several workshops on their director's orders to make "everything look natural."
As Ananya Panday is set to embark on the next thrilling phase of her career, her ultimate goal is to consistently wow the audiences with her versatility, ensuring there's depth, versatility and authenticity in her varied roles.
