'Sam Bahadur' starring Vicky Kaushal in the titular role is currently facing a tough competition with Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal'. While the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directorial is minting moolah at the box office, the former, directed by Meghna Gulzar is still struggling in theatres.
'Sam Bahadur' got a modest opening of Rs 6.25 crore followed by Rs 9 crore on Saturday and witnessed a growth on Sunday as it raked in Rs 10.3 crore. It collected only Rs 3.5 crore on both Monday and Tuesday and on Wednesday, the biopic saw a drop as it pocketed only Rs 3.30 crore net on Day 6. So, the total collection of 'Sam Bahadur' stands at Rs 35.85 crore, as per a report in Sacnilk.

It had an overall 21.60% Hindi occupancy on Day 6 at the box office.

The film is based on the life of Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw who was fondly called Sam Bahadur who served the army for four decades He led the Indian Army and got victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Vicky as Sam Manekshaw pulled off the character very well. He has been getting appreciation for his stellar performance. Even Shoojit Sircar and Sachin Tendulkar among others heaped praise on the actor.

Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra play pivotal roles in the film. Sanya played Vicky's on-screen wife while Fatima portrayed the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Talking about Vicky, he will be next seen in 'Dunki' that has Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu among others. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the movie is releasing on December 21.
Meanwhile, Vicky has graced the couch of 'Koffee With Karan 8' with his 'Lust Stories' co-star Kiara Advani.
