“My dad is injured now. I am crying,” tweeted 7-year-old Bana Alabed from the war-torn East Aleppo in Syria where a bitter battle has been going on between the government troops and rebel forces since 2012.

Bana and her mother Fatemah, a teacher, along with residents of Aleppo, have been tweeting live from the ground explaining their situation that has got global attention. Many are seeking the world’s help to evacuate people from Aleppo. Many are even posting “Good Bye” messages on social media.

“People are dying since last night. I am very surprised I am tweeting right now & still alive (sic),” Fatemah tweeted at one point, adding, “I am very sad no one is helping us in this world, no one is evacuating me & my daughter (sic).”

The mother-daughter duo is even putting out videos of the bomb blasts, saying, “You see we can die anytime. This bomb is so near.”

The most populous city before the civil war and the country's financial centre, Aleppo has been divided into two for the past four years with the government controlling the western half and rebels the east. The ongoing strike was a part of the all-out assault by the Syrian troops on the East.

“the last massage. Thanks for everything. we shared many moments. The last tweets were from an emotiomal father. Farewell,(sic), tweeted Alhamdo.
