A 15-year-old minor girl was rescued from Delhi’s infamous GB Road after a man who visited the brothel alerted the Delhi Commission for Women via a Facebook message.

The 25-year-old man sent a message to the DCW saying the girl had been forced into prostitution since the age of 11.

After rescuing the girl, the police have registered a case under charges of rape, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy and trafficking of the IPC based on the complaint, reported The Indian Express.

It all happened after the man spoke to the girl at the brothel. The owner of the brothel had allegedly heard the two of them talking and had even beaten them up. The man then decided to approach the DCW via their Facebook page.

According to an investigative report published by Outlook in February this year (The Cruel Business Of Brothels), GB Road has around 90 brothels housing approximately 5,000 women and 800 children. The report had also exposed how authorities collude to run flesh trade and sex slavery in the red-light areas of Delhi, Mumbai and Calcutta. DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal had then toldOutlook that this business in Delhi has been run in connivance with at least two senior politicians.

On the recent incident, according to the newspaper report, Maliwal said the man wrote that he wanted to share some personal information. He was called to the commission’s office, where he disclosed that the girl was being kept in the brothel against her will, said the report.
