Why would someone offer Rs 20 lakh for a place in the India A team? Makes no financial sense at all—especially for a team regular.
How could a middle-class man at the age of 30—so presumably past his prime as a player—raise Rs 20 lakh?
If Kale did make the offer, how did he know which of the five selectors to approach?
By the way, why has Abhijit Kale, with 6,806 runs, 24 centuries and 27 half-tons, at an average of 58.67 in first-class cricket, played just one match ever for India?
Why did not Kiran More and Pranab Roy report the matter when the offer was made, before the team selection?
Why did not M/s More & Roy inform the selection panel chief, Syed Kirmani, or their colleagues of the offer?
Why was Kale suspended by the BCCI without even serving him a showcause notice?
Why did not the BCCI ask the two selectors any questions, and— apparently—believe the allegations fully?
Why did the Maharashtra Cricket Association first announce unstinted support for Kale and then make a u-turn when Kale made it a respondent in his court case?
Why did Saurav Ganguly first say that, knowing Kale, he would not have made such an offer and then recant?
Why hasn't the BCCI launched a probe into accusations about other indiscretions of selectors?
