Both men enter this contest with everything to prove in ONE Championship’s talent-stacked 170-pound MMA ranks, currently ruled by reigning ONE Lightweight and Welterweight MMA World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee.

For Vigna, this matchup represents a crucial opportunity to showcase the skills that made him one of South America’s most established fighters. The 35-year-old from Bariloche entered the world’s largest martial arts organization with a pristine 7-0 record, along with an impressive 100 percent finishing rate.

However, the transition to ONE’s global ranks has proven challenging for “El Paisa.” The Aldao Team representative struggled in his first two promotional appearances, suffering back-to-back defeats.

Most recently, Vigna absorbed a first-round TKO loss to Dzhabir Dzhabrailov at ONE Fight Night 32. Prior to that, he was also submitted in the opening frame by Kade Ruotolo at ONE 171: Qatar in February.

Standing opposite him is the 27-year-old Isojima, who brings an unblemished 5-0 professional record to his highly anticipated ONE debut. The Japanese warrior built his reputation at home, enjoying a breakout 2024 campaign with four consecutive victories.

Isojima was originally scheduled to face Adrian “The Phenom” Lee at ONE 172 in March, but a knee injury forced him to withdraw from that high-profile matchup. He was replaced by countryman Takeharu Ogawa, leaving the Japanese star waiting on the sidelines.

After the delayed ONE debut, Isojima is now hungry to introduce himself to the global fanbase with an emphatic victory in American primetime. The undefeated standout aims to announce his arrival in the stacked lightweight MMA division with authority and establish himself as a legitimate contender to the throne.

This showdown represents a crossroads for both fighters in ONE’s ultra-competitive lightweight MMA landscape. Vigna’s dire need for redemption will collide with Isojima’s burning desire to make an immediate impact in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

The veteran Argentine must rediscover the finishing instinct that carried him through Latin America’s regional scene, while the Japanese debutant looks to prove that his perfect record is more than just a novelty against world-class opposition.

A dominant performance could propel either fighter toward bigger opportunities.
