Harbhajan Singh-led Manipal Tigers were beaten by Urbanrisers Hyderabad in the first Qualifier. Hyderabad set a target of 254 runs after they were asked to bat first. Opener batter Dwayne Smith hit a blistering century and made 120 runs in 53 balls. Angelo Perera scored a well-fought 73 off 30 but that was not enough as Manipal Tigers were all-out for 178 runs and Urbanrisers secured a place in the final.

India Capitals come to the 2nd Qualifier after defeating Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator. After being asked to bat first, Capitals made 223 runs with the help of Gautam Gambhir's fifty and considerable effort from all other batters as well. In response to that, Gujarat Giants fell short by 12 runs at the end even after Chris Gayle and Kevin O'Brien's fifties.
Gautam Gambhir and Harbhajan Singh have a good friendship. Now, both friends' teams will clash for the solo spot to meet another former teammate Suresh Raina's side in the final.
