A former Germany youth international, Berlin-born Maza opted in 2024 to play for Algeria.

Reports said Leverkusen will pay a fee of approximately €12million for Maza, who has five goals and five assists in the 2. Bundesliga this season.

Maza will arrive after the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign, with Hertha destined to finish in mid-table in the second tier.

"Ibrahim Maza is currently one of the most interesting young attacking players," Leverkusen sporting managing director Simon Rolfes said.

"Ibrahim suits us and our style of football. He has outstanding technical ability, is good at dribbling and assertive and he also has vision for his team-mates who he can brilliantly bring into play."

Leverkusen, who won a Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double last season, are currently second in the German top flight, eight points behind Bayern Munich with three matches left.

They are already assured of second spot and a place in next season's Champions League group phase.
