In the Group B clash between Wales and USA, shares were spoiled as football played for 90 minutes couldn’t find a winner. USA started the game on a string note, dominating the first half, pushing Wales on back foot. In the 36th minute of the game, Josh Sargent and Christian Pulisic combined well to get into Wales’ half. Chelsea’s Pulisic passes the ball through to Timothy Weah who takes one stride before putting the ball past Wayne Hennessey. USA took the lead in the first half as Wales struggled to conjure up an attack. The second half saw Wales play more directly and look threatening as Gareth Bale and Co. increased pressure on USA defence. In the 81st minute, Walker Zimmerman made an awful sliding tackle to dislodge Bale and without a doubt Wales were awarded a penalty. The LAFC forward nestles his spot kick in the top corner which Matt Turner got fingertips on but failed to keep it away from the goal. The game ended as 1-1 in Al Rayyan as both teams walked away with a point apiece.
