A breathtaking catch from the Dream11 Super Smash 2023-24 became the talk of the town instantly when the combined efforts of two fielders created one of the league's - if not the sport's - most iconic fielding moments. The moment in question occurred in Central Stags' win over Wellington Firebirds as the Stags attempted to chase the target set by their opponents. As Young launched a ball toward the boundary, high in the air, Johnson raced toward the ends to stop crucial runs. The Firebirds' star then leapt into the air, held the ball in his palms and threw it back to Kelly, who had had the presence of mind to follow his teammate closely in his venture.

In spite of Johnson and Kelly's best efforts, Central Stags beat Wellington Firebirds by six wickets to cut into their lead at the top of the table. The Stags played brilliantly with the ball, limiting their opponents to just 147 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. They subsequently chased the target down for the loss of four wickets in just 16.4 overs.
Their latest loss aside, Wellington Firebirds lead the table after eight matches with 22 points, two more than Auckland Aces, who have played a game fewer. The Firebirds are trying to reclaim their crown this season, after seeing it go to Northern Brave for the past two years.
