Sundar once again beats the batter with his away drift and cleans up Shoaib Bashir to give India the last wicket. Beautiful display of bowling from Sundar and he finishes with four for 22.

Ben Stokes has been bowled. Washington Sundar has borken the game in India's favour and the visitors would think they have sealed the game here. Stokes tries slog this full ball on the leg side and misses it completely to get his stumps shattered. Big wicket for India and England in total trouble here.

Second session is done and India have yet again taken three wickets in this. Another good session for the Indian team as the pitch is playing tricks and things keep getting harder for the hosts. England will need some more runs to make things interesting here. They would want to go beyond 250 and bat out the day.

Jamie Smith is bowled now. Washington Sundar is bowling beautifully. The ball just drifts away from Smith at the time of pitching and that small deviation is enough to beat the batter as the ball kisses the top of off stump. Beautiful stuff. India now clearly ahead.

Joe Root has been cleaned up. Massive, massive moment in the game. Washington Sundar comes up with this massive wicket. Root is standing at the off-stump and this time he bends the knee to sweep, only to miss the ball completely and see his stumps shattered.

An partnership going on between Joe Root and Ben Stokes. 62 runs have been added by the duo till now and England are about to cross 150 soon. As the ball has gotten soft, the pitch has not come into play all that much, a fact that would worry India as England are looking comfortable in the middle right now.

Jasprit Bumrah not at his lethal best so far in this game. 11 overs, 31 runs and no wickets so far for the Indian spearhead who took a five-wicket haul in the first innings. Stokes and Root going well so far for England.

A partnership is brewing between Joe Root and Ben Stokes. 31 runs added so far and England would hope both of them go on for some time. Stokes has been out of form in recent times and there would not be a better moment for the English red ball captain to come to form and once again show what a big game player he is. But he will have to contend with an in-form Indian pace trio.

They have struck four times this morning and England have been really put under pressure on a pitch that has shown the tendency to be a bit up and down. England would need more runs though no matter how the pitch is behaving.

Harry Brook has been bowled once again by Akash Deep. Brook was playing risky cricket and had raced to 23 off 18 when he looked to sweep Akash who kept the ball straight. The ball missed Brook's bat and hit the stumps to hand India a massive wicket at a crucial juncture in this game.

Harry Brook and Joe Root, the top two batters in Test cricket right now, are in the middle. This is the partnership on which England would rely heavily. For India, if they can get a wicket quickly here, they will be ahead in this game.

Nitish Kumar Reddy you beauty! He once again takes a wicket with his gentle swing bowling. Reddy floats it full to invite Zak Crawley to play a drive. The right hander obliges but the late movement means, Crawley will have to walk back for 22 and India will get their third wicket.

Another one for Siraj and India get their second wicket. Ollie Pope can not stay for long as Siraj traps him in front of wickets with a sharp nipbacker. The umpire was not convinced but Siraj was and he forced Gill to go for a review where the ball is hitting the stumps.

The pitch is playing its tricks. The ball is keeping low sometimes and we have seen some odd bounce as well. India can not let England scored big here. It seems like a tough pitch to bat on right now and it will get worse as the game progresses. Pope and Crawley in the middle right now. India would soon bring in Akash Deep to give one of Bumrah or Siraj a break.

The pressure brings the wicket. Right from the start of the day, Indian new ball duo of Bumrah and Siraj was troubling England openers and finally they get their reward. Duckett has to go and Siraj picks up the first wicket of this innings.

Speaking after the close of play, England bowling consultant Tim Southee weighed in on the dramatic end to the day.

“It’s good. Always exciting to see both sides animated towards the end,” said Southee. Taking a jab at India, he added, “Not sure what they were complaining about when Gill was lying down getting a massage in the middle of the day yesterday. It’s obviously part of the game."

Shubman Gill was involved in a heated exchange with Zak Crawley after the latter's delay tactics angered the Indian skipper. Gill was seen giving it to the English opener, as well as rest of his teammates. Gill was seen sarcastically clapping and making an X sign as in an emergency towards the English bench as things got bit feisty in the middle.
