After impressing in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Afghanistan are set to tour India for a three-match T20I series starting in January next year, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed the same on November 21. (More Cricket News)

This will be the first time ever Afghanistan and India will play in a bilateral white-ball cricket series, apart from participating in the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup and Asia Cup. Afghanistan and India were also involved in a one-off Test match back in 2018 which the Indians won by an innings and 262 runs.

The PCA Stadium in Mohali will host the first match between the two teams on January 11. The second game will be played on January 14 at the Holkat Stadium in Indore whereas the series concludes on January 17 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
 

The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side had a great outing in the Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. They defeated England by 69 runs and also got the better of Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The Afghans had the Aussies on the mat at 91/7 until Glenn Maxwell turned up the heat with his unbeaten 201-run knock at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Afghans failed to make through the semis but have qualified for the Champions Trophy 2025.
