Workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party took to streets to celebrate as the party appeared set to retain power in Uttar Pradesh with the party-led alliance leading on over 250 seats. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is headed to a landslide victory in Gorakhpur Urban where he was leading with around 31,000 votes as per latest updates from the Election Commission. The Samajwadi Party-led alliance is leading on 139 seats and is well short of the majority mark of 202.
