Security forces in Manipur's Imphal East and Imphal West districts successfully seized four firearms, 38 rounds of ammunition, and eight explosive devices following comprehensive search operations. The police shared that these operations were specifically conducted in areas prone to security vulnerabilities, covering districts including Imphal East, Imphal West, Kakching, Kangpokpi, and Thoubal.

In an official communication from the Manipur Police Control Room on Thursday evening, it was noted that the state had witnessed moments of tension over the past day, marked by sporadic gatherings of protestors. In response to this situation, a notable deployment of 123 'nakas' or checkpoints was strategically arranged across various districts within Manipur's hill and valley regions. During these efforts, a total of 1,581 individuals were detained for their involvement in different infractions recorded across the state, PTI reported.

The police statement carried a sincere appeal to the public, urging them to exercise caution in relation to circulating unverified information and videos. The public was advised to cross-check the authenticity of any doubtful content by reaching out to the Central control room's dedicated rumor-free helpline at 9233522822. Additionally, the statement emphasized the importance of civic responsibility, urging citizens to promptly return any stolen weaponry, ammunition, or explosives to either the police or the nearest security forces.
