At least three children lost their lives and 10 others sustained injuries when a bus carrying students from a private coaching centre collided with a truck in Nayagarh district.
The incident occurred in the Sahalabhanga jungle area of Daspalla on Friday.
The bus was carrying approximately 50 students towards Bolangir district for a picnic when the collision took place. Two students lost their lives on the spot while another girl succumbed to her injuries after being taken to the hospital.
The injured students are currently receiving medical treatment in local hospitals, with authorities closely monitoring their conditions. The intensity of the injuries has not been reported yet.

In response to the tragic incident, local police have initiated an inquiry to determine the cause of the collision at Sahalabhanga jungle in the Daspalla area.
The driver of the truck has been detained by the authorities but the potential charges have not been revealed yet. Further investigation is underway.
