Ever thought the postman will become your ATM one day? The Andhra Pradesh postal circle has launched a Bank on Your Postman Scheme which mainly targets housewives and the elderly tired of queuing up at the post office to draw money. SB account holders can issue cheques or withdrawal forms to the postman. He will draw cash up to a maximum Rs 5,000 for them. The first state to implement the scheme, AP expects one-third clientele to be senior citizens. An estimated 5 lakh people would use this facility monthly, fetching the department Rs 25 crore a year. What a win-win!
