Maharashtra: 2,600 Agniveers Join Training At Artillery Centre, Nashik

These Agniveers will get the opportunity to serve as Gunners (Topchi), Technical Assistants, Radio Operators and Motor Drivers in the Indian Army.

The first batch of 2,600 Agniveers has joined the Artillery Training Centre near here, a senior official said on Tuesday. Their training began from January 1, said Lt Colonel S K Panda, Arty Depot Regiment.

“All necessary training infrastructure is available under one roof at the Artillery Training Centre, Nashik Road camp....They have to go through rigorous and challenging training to become Topchi Agniveer. The weapon training is given with the help of Firing Simulator and driving training with the help of Driving Simulator," he said.

These Agniveers will get the opportunity to serve as Gunners (Topchi), Technical Assistants, Radio Operators and Motor Drivers in the Indian Army.  The training will be of 31 weeks including a 10-week basic training and 21-week advanced training, Panda added.
