Jamaat-e-Islami chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed is the vice-president of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA, or the Alliance for Joint Action), which performed spectacularly to emerge third in the election to the National Assembly and command majority in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) and Balochistan assemblies.
