In an exciting announcement for fans of the beloved "Star Wars" series, Lucasfilm, a subsidiary of Walt Disney, revealed on Tuesday that the iconic character Baby Yoda, also known as Grogu, will be making his way to movie theaters in the first feature film inspired by "The Mandalorian."

"The Mandalorian and Grogu" is set to start production later this year, according to Lucasfilm. Jon Favreau, the creator of the original series, will take the director's chair for this new cinematic adventure. The helmeted bounty hunter, played by Pedro Pascal, and his adorable companion, Baby Yoda, captured the hearts of fans when they first appeared on Disney+ in 2019.

While the announcement did not include a specific release date for the movie, fans can expect the return of Pedro Pascal as the enigmatic Mandalorian. The news brings fresh excitement to the "Star Wars" universe, especially since Disney had temporarily halted the development of new films in the franchise.

The last installment in the saga, "The Rise of Skywalker," hit theaters in 2019 and grossed nearly $1.1 billion globally. With the upcoming "The Mandalorian and Grogu" movie, fans can look forward to another thrilling chapter in the ever-expanding galaxy far, far away.
