'Dream Girl 2' that released in theatres on August 25 finally entered the Rs 50 crore club on day 5 of its release. Ayushmann Khurrana starrer opened with a double-digit number as it earned Rs 10.69 on day 1. On day 2, it saw a rise as it collected Rs 14.02 crore and on day 3, the film raked in Rs 16 crore. On its first Monday, 'Dream Girl 2' saw a dip as it pocketed Rs 5.42 crore at the box office.
The film earned Rs 5.87 crore on its first Tuesday. So, the total collection of 'Dream Girl 2' now stands at Rs 52.18 crore.

Ayushmann is thrilled with the film's success. As quoted by news agency, ANI, he had said, "I'm thrilled with Dream Girl 2's start at the box office as it has given me my career-best opening! 'Dream Girl 2' is the story of Karamveer aka Karam (Ayushmann Khurrana), who falls in love with Pari (Ananya Panday) and wants to marry her but her father (Manoj Joshi) has one condition. Karam must pay off his father Jagjit Singh's (Annu Kapoor) loan and have a good future so that he can keep his daughter happy. For this, Karam cross-dresses as Pooja but problems never end and chaotic situations are created.
Directed by Raaj Shaandilya, 'Dream Girl 2' also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Vijay Raaz, Annu Kapoor, Seema Pahwa, Manoj Joshi, Abhishek Banerjee and Manjot Singh in pivotal roles.
