A bizarre incident of a teenager waking up on the way to his funeral has come to light in Dharwad district of Karnataka.

Kumar Marewad, a 17-year-old boy, was bitten by a dog and was undergoing treatment at a government hospital. After his condition deteriorated he was put on ventilator. However, he was soon taken off the life supporting device after doctors told that Kumar will not survive because of infection, reports The Times of India.

Subsequently, his family members decided to take Kumar home as chances of his survival was bleak.

On noticing no body movement or breathing, Kumar's relatives presumed him dead. After making funeral arrangements Kumar was being taken to the funeral when he opened his eyes, moved his hands and legs and started breathing fast.

He was then immediately rushed to a hospital on Gokul Road.

Currently, he has been put on ventilator.

According to Kumar's parents, he dropped out of school in standard 9th and helped his parents as a construction labourer.
