Felix Auger-Aliassime and Bianca Andreescu ensured Canada made a winning start to their Hopman Cup campaign after downing Spain 3-0 on Friday.
Auger-Aliassime and Andreescu won their respective singles matches in straight sets against Marina Bassols Ribera and Roberto Bautista Agut.
The pair then teamed up in the mixed doubles and led 6-3 after the first set before the Spanish team retired from the match, completing a sweep for Canada.
Canada's victory puts them at the summit of Group A ahead of facing Greece on Saturday, knowing a positive result would take them into Sunday's final against hosts Italy.
Andreescu made light work of Marina Bassols Ribera in the opening game, taking just 59 minutes to secure a 6-0 6-1 victory to put Canada into an early lead.
But in the second match, Auger-Aliassime was made to work for his win over Bautista Agut, edging a second-set tie-break to seal a 6-3 7-6 (7-3) triumph.
The Canadian pairing continued their dominance in the final match of the tie, and will now turn their attentions to Greece's Stefanos Tsitsipas and Despina Papamichail next.
Greece are bottom of the group after losing 2-1 to Spain, with both Tsitsipas and Papamichail winning their respective singles matches before losing in the mixed doubles.
