After news that Rahul Dravid has expressed his intention to not continue as the head coach of the Indian men's cricket team to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), a fresh round of reports have come in regarding the former India captain's plans for the Indian Premier League 2024. Dravid is likely to take over as the mentor of IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the 2024 season. (Cricket News)

Dravid’s two-year tenure as India head coach officially concluded after the Men in Blue’s 2023 ODI World Cup campaign, where they finished runners-up. As per a report in Dainik Jagran, the BCCI is likely to have a discussion with Dravid on his future as head coach, but whether he will sign a contract extension or not remains to be seen.

The report added that apart from LSG, Dravid was also in talks with Rajasthan Royals, a franchise that he has represented and played for in several IPL editions. But it looks less likely that Dravid will join RR as LSG seems to be his possible next destination.

Dravid is reportedly already in talks with LSG regarding the possible move. Should he not continue as India head coach, Dravid might join LSG as their mentor, where he would replace Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir had confirmed on 22 November that he was leaving LSG and returning to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as mentor.
