Calling Virat Kohli's Test retirement the 'end of an era' feels fitting. Kohli made his debut in red-ball cricket back in June 2011 against the West Indies at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.

In his very first match, he scored just 4 runs in the first innings and 15 in the second. India won the match by 63 runs. That was just the beginning...

Since then, Kohli has scored 9,230 runs in 210 innings, maintaining an average of 46.85. He's amassed 30 centuries and 31 fifties, cementing his place as one of the best in the format.

Kohli's last Test appearance came in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, where he scored 190 runs in nine innings at an average of 23.75, including a century at Perth.
