Ravichandran Ashwin Reveals Retirement 'Call-Log' With Heartfelt Note

Ashwin played 106 Test matches, 116 one-day internationals, and 65 T20Is, picking up 537, 156, and 72 wickets, respectively

Ravichandran Ashwin's international retirement has sparked a tsunami of reactions from some of the biggest names in world cricket. (More Cricket News)

The 38-year-old called time on his international career midway through the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, after the third Test ended in a draw in Brisbane.

Social media flooded with congratulatory messages throughout the day and the next. 

Ashwin also revealed he received calls from two of India’s greatest cricketers in Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev. 

He shared a screenshot of his call log on X (formerly known as twitter), Ashwin wrote, “If someone told me 25 years ago that I would have a smart phone with me and the call log on the last day of my career as an Indian cricketer would look like this, I would have had a heart attack then only. Thanks @sachin_rt and @therealkapildev paaji."

Ashwin played 106 Test matches, 116 one-day internationals, and 65 T20Is, picking up 537, 156, and 72 wickets, respectively. 

The spinner also has registered six hundreds and 14 fifties in Tests, while bagging eight ten-wicket hauls and 35 five-fors.
