Q1: How did you get started with your brand Craft and Glory, and what inspired you to start a Vintage-Inspired Collection?

Craft and Glory was born from my passion for rugged goods that could endure any terrain. As someone from the hills, I felt a deep connection to nature. Disappointed by the lack of Indian brands offering the durability and rugged aesthetics I craved, I set out on a quest to find the perfect material. Leather, with its timeless appeal and unmatched durability, emerged as the ideal choice for rugged individuals like me. This inspiration led to the creation of Craft and Glory—a brand celebrating vintage-inspired aesthetics and crafting the finest full-grain leather goods.

Q2: What motivated you to start a Leather Boot & Bags Brand specifically?

The motivation behind starting a Leather Boot & Bags Brand was driven by the realization that India, with its abundance of skilled labor and rich craftsmanship, stands as a powerhouse in the Saddlery & Leather goods export industry. However, despite being the third-largest exporter in this domain, Indian consumers were often left dependent on international brands to fulfill their desire for exceptional quality goods. I aimed to fill the gap in the market, providing Indian consumers with a top-notch homegrown brand that delivers unmatched quality and craftsmanship in leather products, catering to the discerning tastes of Indian consumers.

Q3: What do you think sets your brand apart from other brands in your niche, and how have you built such a strong customer connect?

Craft and Glory stands out by prioritizing rugged and durable goods with a vintage aesthetic, unlike other Indian brands that mainly focus on formal boots. Our inspiration comes from classic designs of past Wars and Utility wear. Using superior materials that are plastic & nickel free, we cater to individuals seeking authentic craftsmanship and enduring products. This commitment has nurtured a strong customer connection, as our patrons resonate with our unique offerings and shared values.

Q4: Your range of Goodyear Welted Boots has become hugely popular. What inspired you to start creating these, and what do you think makes them so appealing to your customers?

My inspiration for creating the range of Goodyear Welted Boots originates from classic designs of the past, particularly from workwear, wars, and utility. My goal has always been to craft something that's not just fashionable but also highly functional, adding long-lasting value to our customers' lives. The appeal lies in the boots' timeless aesthetics, superior craftsmanship, and exceptional durability, making them beloved by our patrons who seek both style and practicality in their footwear.

Q5: What is your creative process like, and how do you come up with new ideas for your collection?

Our creative process doesn't involve inventing from scratch; instead, we draw inspiration from the folds of history. Classic designs from American workwear, war uniforms, and utility wear form the foundation of our ideas. We breathe new life into these timeless concepts, making modifications to suit the preferences of modern-day customers. By blending the charm of the past with contemporary needs, we create a collection that resonates with our audience.

Q6: What is it like being a slow-fashion brand in a fast-paced fashion industry?

Being a slow-fashion brand in a fast-paced fashion industry is fantastic for us. We take pride in going against the tide, offering our base of customers something unique and enduring. Quality handcrafted excellence sets us apart from the fleeting trends of fast fashion, and our customers appreciate the timeless elegance and authenticity that can only be achieved through a slow and thoughtful approach to creating our products.
