Rs 2 Lakh Cr Investment By Adani, Giga Factory By Ambani: Vibrant Gujarat Summit Fetches Big

The inauguration ceremony of Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 in Gandhinagar is being attended by top CEOs of leading industries in the country among whom, Gautam Adani promised to invest Rs 2 lakh crore in Gujarat while Suzuki promised a sum of Rs 35,000 crore.

Top CEOs address at summit

Gautam Adani, Chairperson of Adani Group, at the inauguration ceremony of Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 in Gandhinagar said, "I take immense pride in having been a part of all 10 editions of this Summit. Honourable Prime Minister, Vibrant Gujarat is a stunning manifestation of your extraordinary vision. It has all your hallmark signatures, merging grand ambitions, massive scale, meticulous governance and flawless execution," as he promised to invest Rs 2 lakh crore in the state and create 1 lakh jobs.

Maruti Suzuki India will invest Rs 35,000 crore to set up its second manufacturing facility in Gujarat, Suzuki Motor Corporation President Toshihiro Suzuki said on Wednesday. Toshihiro said the plant would have an installed production capacity of 10 lakh units per annum.

"We will invest Rs 35,000 crore for the construction of a second car plant in Gujarat which would produce another one million units per year. As a result, the annual production capacity in Gujarat will be two million units -- 1 million units at Suzuki Motor Gujarat and one million units at the second new plant," he added.

Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani said that his group is ready to commission giga factory in Gujarat in second half of 2024. They will also set up India's first and world-class carbon fibre facility at Hazira. "Reliance has invested over USD 150 billion (12 lakh crore) in creating world-class assets and capacities across India in last just 10 years. Of this, more than one third has been invested in Gujarat alone," he said. As per PTI, Reliance started building the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex over 5,000 acres in Jamnagar. This will generate a large number of green jobs and enable production of green products and materials that will make Gujarat the leading exporter of such goods and the company is ready to roll this out in the second half of 2024, added Ambani

ArcelorMittal chairperson Lakshmi Mittal addressing the audience said, "I had come here in September last year for Vibrant Gujarat. PM Modi had then briefed us how this mega global event has got an institutionalise structure on the basis of ideas, imagination and process continuity. The PM had then said that India's pride will increase with the theme of 'One Earth, One Family and One Future."

Mittal also spoke about building the world's single biggest steel manufacturing factory at Hazira in Gujarat by 2029 which will have a capacity of 24 million tonne per annum. He said ArcelorMittal has signed MoUs with the Gujarat government for  phase two of the Hazira plant in the summit.

Tata Group has made a commitment and is on the verge of concluding, and announcing a 'huge semiconductor fab' in Dholera, reportedly said Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran. The semiconductor factory will be built at Dholera in Gujarat. Chandrasekaran also mentioned that the group is about to start a 20 GW gigafactory for manufacturing lithium ion batteries in Sanand in two months.

Gujarat CM spoke at the summit

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel in his address said, "Vibrant Summit's pioneer and architect PM Modi has described the Summit as a platform for business bonding as well as binding. Today, the presence of you all here is a proof of it."

Patel also mentioned hat 50 per cent of MoUs signed during this Summit are 'Green MoUs'.

President of UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the chief guest at the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. He addressed the audience as well.

PM Narendra Modi welcomed Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala, Mozambique President Nyusi and Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta on Wednesday.

Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit so far

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a bilateral meeting in Gandhinagar on Tuesday and hailed the rapidly transforming India-UAE partnership, officials said.

Four MoUs were signed between India and the UAE in the presence of the two leaders, including one between the Gujarat government and DP World, a multinational logistics company based in Dubai, they said.

This was the fourth meeting between Modi and Al Nahyan in less than seven months.

On January 9, the PM held bilateral meetings with the President of Timor-Leste Jose Ramos-Horta and Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi. This was followed by his meeting with CEOs of top global corporations.
