A special flight carrying 311 Indian nationals from Iran landed in New Delhi on Sunday, as part of India’s ongoing evacuation effort amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel following U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that the flight originated from the Iranian city of Mashhad and is part of a broader repatriation operation initiated in response to the rapidly deteriorating security situation in the region.

“With this flight, the total number of Indian citizens evacuated from Iran has reached 1,428,” the MEA said in a statement.

The evacuation comes in the wake of a major U.S. military operation targeting three key Iranian nuclear sites, which has heightened fears of a broader conflict in the Middle East. Indian authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have urged all Indian nationals in the region to remain in touch with the Indian Embassy and follow official advisories.
