Kosovo postponed a local election due December 18 in four municipalities with a predominantly ethnic Serb population, to defuse recent tensions there that have also caused relations with neighbouring Serbia to deteriorate further. Serbs continue to block roads and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic warned he would ask the NATO-led peacekeeping force to deploy 1,000 Serb troops to north of Kosovo, if peace doesn't prevail.
