The US state of Texas is currently in the grips of a scorching heatwave. The temperatures have reached as high as 115*F (46*C) and a forecast said that it's further expected to rise next week. A forecast said that only the Sahara desert and Persian Gulf would be hotter than Texas next Wednesday. The heatwave has taxed the state's power grid and has pushed the people to pools and water bodies to seek relief from the heat.
