With just one day away from the release of season 2 of Amazon Prime Video’s epic fantasy ‘The Wheel Of Time’, all eyes are on Rosamund Pike’s captivating portrayal of her powerful character, Moiraine Damodred. Unlike season 1, this time the viewers will get a chance to deep dive into her motivations and powers. With hints of political intrigue, magical complexities, and personal growth, season 2 promises to be high on revelations and surprises.
Just like the audiences, Pike too is excited to showcase a different side of her character in season two. “We see a completely different Moiraine, the one who has to use her wits and guile, and who doesn’t have the tremendous power she’s enjoyed for so many years at her fingertips anymore,” said Pike, adding, “I miss channelling, of course. I miss having the magic. But I have enjoyed presenting Moiraine’s true courage, which is impressive to say the least, because she’s going up against people far stronger than her, people who would be far stronger than her if she did have the power, and she’s doing it empty-handed, too.”

She further added, “Prepare to see a more human Moiraine than we’ve seen hitherto. Prepare to see a Moiraine battling against the biggest loss of her life so far, probably since her father, which we also come to understand later in the season.” Although, the Aes Sedai must deal with her own feelings, it’s likely the dynamics of family and relationships will also be seen in a new light.
‘The Wheel Of Time’ also stars Josha Stradowski, Daniel Henney, Zoë Robins and Madeleine Madden in pivotal roles. Created by Rafe Judkins, the fantasy series will premiere on September 1.
