Amitabh Bachchan Gifts His Rs 50-Crore Juhu Bungalow, Prateeksha To Daughter Shweta Nanda

Prateeksha, Amitabh Bachchan's first home in Juhu, Mumbai has a special place in his heart as it holds precious memories of the actor. He lived there with his parents, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's daughter Shweta Nanda is now the new owner of Prateeksha. Yes, you read it right! Mr Bachchan and his wife gifted their Juhu bungalow to their daughter Shweta Nanda, as per the property documents accessed by Zapkey.

The sprawling property is located in the Vitthalnagar Cooperative Housing Society on two plots of sizes 890.47 sq m and 674 sq m in Juhu, Mumbai. Two separate gift deeds were signed on November 8, and a stamp duty of Rs 50.65 lakh was paid for the registration of the deed.

The document showed Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan as donors, and Shweta Nanda as the donee.

For the unversed, Prateeksha was Amitabh Bachchan's first property in Mumbai where he lived with his parents, mother Teji and father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. It has a special place in his heart as it holds precious memories of the actor with his parents. 

He had once told a participant on 'Kaun Banega Crorepati’ that the bungalow’s name was given by his father and that there is a mention of it in his father’s poem that says that  ''swagat sabke liye yahan par nehin kisike liye prateeksha".

Big B also owns two other bungalows in Juhu- Jalsa and Janak.

Talking about Shweta Bachchan Nanda, she is an author, columnist, and entrepreneur. She has two children- daughter Navya Naveli Nanda and son Agastya Nanda.
