When Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu arrives in Davos-Klosters this January, it will mark more than just a diplomatic visit. From January 19 to 23, 2026, Naidu will represent his state at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting, one of the world’s most influential gatherings of political leaders, policymakers, business executives, and global investors. For Andhra Pradesh, the visit underscores a renewed push to project itself as a competitive, future-ready investment destination.

Naidu will be accompanied by a high-level delegation that reflects the government’s focus on both policy direction and execution. HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh and Industries Minister T.G. Bharath will join the Chief Minister, alongside senior bureaucrats including Kartikeya Misra, Secretary to the Chief Minister; N. Yuvaraj, Secretary, Industries and Commerce; Bhaskar Katamneni, Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (ITE&C); Shubham Bansal; and the Director of Industries. Together, the team is expected to engage with global corporations, institutional investors, and policymakers across sectors.

The state government has made it clear that the Davos engagement is strategically aimed at attracting investments, strengthening international partnerships, and promoting Andhra Pradesh’s economic potential on a global stage. With sectors such as information technology, electronics manufacturing, renewable energy, logistics, ports, agri-processing, and skill development gaining momentum, the delegation plans to pitch Andhra Pradesh as a destination that combines policy stability, skilled human capital, and infrastructure readiness.

Intent, Confidence, and Ambition

The World Economic Forum has long served as a global platform where investment decisions, policy ideas, and cross-border collaborations take shape. Participation at Davos allows sub-national governments like Andhra Pradesh to directly interact with multinational corporations and global financial institutions, cutting through traditional diplomatic layers. For Naidu, known for his long-standing emphasis on technology-driven governance and economic reforms, the forum offers an opportunity to revive and expand relationships built during his earlier stints in office.

Observers note that Andhra Pradesh’s presence at WEF 2026 also carries symbolic weight. At a time when states are increasingly competing to attract global capital, Davos provides a stage to signal intent, confidence, and ambition. By leading the delegation himself, Naidu is positioning Andhra Pradesh as proactive and globally engaged, eager to align with emerging economic trends and international best practices.

Beyond investment pitches, the visit is expected to focus on learning and collaboration. Interactions with global leaders and industry experts may help shape the state’s approach to innovation, sustainability, digital governance, and inclusive growth. In that sense, Davos is not just about deals, but about ideas that could influence Andhra Pradesh’s long-term development trajectory.

As the world converges in the Swiss Alps, Andhra Pradesh’s message at Davos 2026 is clear: the state is open for business, open to partnerships, and ready to play a larger role in the global economic landscape.
