VMSIIHE Becomes Autonomous, Marking A New Chapter In Academic Excellence, Innovation And Industry Relevance

The Autonomous Status has been conferred by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and formally notified by Goa University. VMSIIHE will function as an autonomous institute affiliated to Goa University, with greater academic responsibility and flexibility to further strengthen its programmes and respond to the evolving needs of the hospitality and tourism industry.

The conferment of autonomy marks a significant milestone in VMSIIHE’s journey of academic excellence and reinforces its commitment to quality, industry-oriented hospitality education and holistic student development.

The new status provides the Institute with greater academic responsibility and flexibility, within the applicable regulatory framework, to strengthen its programmes, foster innovation, deepen industry engagement and respond more effectively to the evolving needs of the hospitality and tourism sector.

Commenting on the achievement, Prof. Irfan Mirza, Director & Principal, said:
